I made a small gallery update today, and I will add more photos later, but since I don’t like huge photo posts, I decided to divide in two. You’ll be able to find now HQ pictures from older events Claire attended, mostly between 2007 and 2010. I will later focus on earlier years, as I have around 200 photos on my computer that need to be uploaded.
Claire Danes has claimed that new Showtime pilot Homeland will be a psychological thriller.
It was confirmed in November that the actress will play Carrie Anderson, a CIA officer working to prove that a US soldier (Damian Lewis) is planning a terrorist attack.
“It’s… a psychological thriller and it’s very character-based,” Danes told TVLine of the project, which also stars Mandy Patinkin, Laura Fraser and David Harewood.
She explained that the potential series will be less action-packed than producer Howard Gordon’s former show 24.
“It’s a lot less kicking and shooting than it is political intrigue,” she explained.
Danes, who recently won a Golden Globe for her role in HBO mini-series Temple Grandin, also revealed that her character will suffer from bipolar disorder.
Production on the Homeland pilot began earlier this month in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Claire Danes is giving advice on staying fit and healthy.
Asked for beauty tips, the actress replied, “I said before, it’s annoyingly obvious: sleep, exercise, eating real foods”.
The 31-year-old wowed the audience when she stepped out in a pink Calvin Klein dress at the Golden Globes. Danes said she was working hard at her New Year’s resolutions.
“What is my resolution? I always like to return phone calls. To be a better person and friend.”
Danes also said one of her biggest regrets was never finishing college. The actress got her first big break at the age of 15 in the 1994 movie adaptation of the Louisa May Alcott novel Little Women.
Danes said, “I didn’t finish. I only went for two years, but those two years were really good for me to just step away for a little bit and grow up without the prying eyes of the public and all the judgment that accompanies it. So that was good, and I don’t know.”
Claire Danes often ponders whether she should start a new career as a psychologist or graphic designer.
The actress received the best actress in a mini-series or TV movie Golden Globe Award for her performance in Temple Grandin at yesterday’s ceremony. Despite her success, the 31-year-old constantly worries her career will end abruptly. She has been in the business for around 17 years, and can’t believe she’s achieved such longevity. For that reason, Claire often ponders what she would do if she stopped winning roles.
“I always think that I am never going to get another job,” she explained. “Maybe a psychologist or a graphic designer. I don’t know, hopefully I will never have to find out. I took a graphic design class in college and I really liked it. That is why I say that.”
Although she has been successful, Claire still has regrets. She wishes she had paid more attention to her education, and finished her time at college. It’s something which haunts her, and would be top of her list of things to change if she had her time again.
“Go to college, actually. I didn’t finish,” she explained, when asked about her regrets. “I only went for two years but those two years were really good for me to just step away for a little bit and grow up without the prying eyes of the public and all the judgment that accompanies it. So that was good.”
Temple Grandin will lecture at the Ulster County Community College’s Quimby Theater in Stone Ridge on April 21 at 6 p.m.
Grandin is one of the most accomplished and well-known adults with autism, and is also the topic for the full-length HBO film that bears her name, starring Claire Danes, winner of the Golden Globe for Best Actress on Sunday.
Sponsored by the college’s Veterinary Technology Club, Grandin’s lecture is called: “Humane Treatment and Behavior of Livestock Animals”.
Temple will also speak on April 22 at 9 a.m. in Quimby Theater to the Hudson Valley Autism Society.
