Today I bring you two special goodies, thanks to Nick who kindly wrote me and told me about this. First there’s this trailer to Dreams Of Love, Claire’s first film. She was very young in here and it’s interesting to look at her first work; I haven’t seen it before to be honest!
And last Nick also sent me a link to this interview with Claire for Venice Magazine, which features the shoot I used for our current layout. Since the interview is pretty big to put here, you can follow this link and read directly on the site.
“I think a lot of creative people struggle with understanding where reality and imagination meet, because you’ve got to manipulate and challenge them both when you are an artist. I know now that I can choose to do that or not; it’s under my power. It’s the good thing about being 30. I somehow figured that out, finally,”
Last night Claire won an Emmy for her Temple Grandin role, congratulations to our girl! I’m sorry for not making a post sooner, nor add event photos for now, but I happen to be very sick and I spend most of my time in bed as I don’t feel well at all. As soon as I feel capable to sit on my desk and download some photos, we’ll have a full coverage on last night’s event! Once again congratulations to Claire!
The actress, who is nominated for an Emmy Award for her performance in Temple Grandin, reveals she will be wearing her go-to designer Zac Posen on the red carpet Aug. 29!
Claire Danes is on top of the world right now with an Emmy nomination for her lead role in HBO’s biopic Temple Grandin — now all she has to do is decide on the perfect red carpet look! HollywoodLife.com sat down with Claire, 31, Aug. 17, inside NYC’s famous Vanderbilt Hall at Grand Central Terminal, where she unveiled Valspar Paint’s new hi-def colors. While there, she EXCLUSIVELY divulged who she’ll be wearing to the 2010 Emmy Awards!
“Zac Posen is making my dress. We were just working on it yesterday.”
As for how it is coming along, Claire revealed, “the color is the big question now … what color is it going to be? The actual shape is determined but the actual color … I don’t know. I think certain colors work better on me than others.”
After meeting Claire in person, we can tell you that any color will look unbelievable on the blonde stunner. But she jokingly told us there’s one color she won’t be wearing!
“I don’t think I’ll be wearing chartreuse [a mixture between yellow and green],” she said laughingly. “It’s still kind of a mystery … we will see!”
This is Claire’s second Emmy nomination, the first was back in 1994 for her role as Angela in My So Called Life. So we had to ask Claire what it was like to be nominated for a second time!
“I was so pleased that the movie was successful creatively and then I was pleased that people connected with it and liked it,” she says. “And more than anything I was pleased that Temple recognized herself in my portrayal. This is all a lovely addition to that.”
Paramount Home Entertainment has announced the film STARDUST, starring Claire Danes, Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer, will be available on Blu-ray September 7, 2010. The fantasy/adventure film follows Yvaine (Danes) a fallen star who is pursued by a young man who wants to capture her for his love interest and a witch (Pfeiffer) who wants her heart to gain eternal youth. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Neil Gaiman. STARDUST came out right around the same time as THE GOLDEN COMPASS, and although both were good, STARDUST was far superior in my opinion because of the story and performances. The special features included are:
* Crossing the Wall: The Making of Stardust (in HD)
* Nothing Is True…
* Commentary by Matthew Vaughn and Jane Goldman
* Blooper reel
* Deleted scenes
* Theatrical trailer (in HD)
I just found a new review for Claire Danes as Temple Grandin, and thought it was a wonderful summary of Claire and the way she portrays her characters. Here is an extract from this amazing article:
These powerful performances help to support rather than distract from the crowning achievement of this film: the perfect portrayal of Temple Grandin by Claire Danes.
I already knew that Claire Danes, after first capturing our hearts with the short-lived TV series My So-Called Life, had grown up to be the consummate actress who played Sonja Jones in Me and Orson Welles. But as far as I’m concerned, her whole career was preparation for this masterpiece. From this moment on, Claire Danes is making a credible bid to fill Katherine Hepburn’s seat as the finest American actress.
It’s not just that Danes does a perfect job of giving us Grandin’s mannerisms and patterns of speech. She clearly understood that this wasn’t enough – especially if Grandin’s autism makes it hard for strangers to feel comfortable with her.
I personally enjoyed reading it. Orson Scott Card wrote it, and you can read the full article! Original source:Rhinotimes.com
Today, April 12th, is as many of you know already Claire’s birthday. On behalf of Sofia and myself, we would like to wish Claire a very Happy Birthday. We hope she is celebrating today filled with love and laughter, and this year proves to be another great and successful year for her in her career and life. Leave your Birthday wishes in the comments below!
Claire is recently on the cover of Vs. Magazine Spring/Summer 2010 issue, looking absolutely stunning! A little preview of the article:
On what she looks for in a project: “I think it is really clear when a script is good and you can determine that by just reading the first fifteen pages. I look for something that is imaginative and truthful; a coherent and engaging story and a character that undergoes a transformation no matter how modest.”
On My So Called Life and the attention it still gets:“It is not something I am remotely ashamed of – quite the opposite. I feel really lucky to have been part of something that continues to resonate so many years after.
I could only find tagged images, but if I find any untagged versions I will post them! Also, if anyone buys the magazine and is willing to donate scans with full credit to the site, please leave a comment!
Looks like Claire has a new job!!! According to several sources, she is going to be the new spokesmodel for Latisse products. Check it out:
Claire Danes wants to give you some serious lash envy.
Today, Latisse revealed — during a breakfast at New York City’s swanky Hudson Hotel — that the actress would follow in Brooke Shields’ footsteps as a new spokesmodel for the FDA-approved lash grower. The announcement comes on the first anniversary of the prescription product, whose active ingredient bimatoprost was previously used to treat glaucoma patients.
