Zac Efron was in way over his head when he heard that Claire Danes would be playing his love interest in Richard Linklater’s Me & Orson Welles.

The 21-year-old actor dishes to Blackbook mag, “I was intimidated, even just the name Claire Danes carries such weight with it. I needed to be a worthy love interest in the film and I didn’t know that I had any of the qualities necessary to woo a girl like her.”

Zac continued, “Claire and I were trapped on an island together with nowhere to go for four weeks, like a reality show. My character was supposed to fall in love, but she was also supposed to be out of his league. After meeting Claire, that was definitely the way it was supposed to be.”

During the past 2 days I’ve been pretty busy in updating our photogallery and I am happy to announce that over 2,000 images have been added, which bring us to an amazing amount of nearly 20,000 Claire Danes photos. I updated mostly events from 2003, 2004, 2007 and 2009 and I have a lot more to add, but I want to take a few hours now to complete our new layout and the exclusive content of the site. I was finally able to finish and set a new gallery theme! I made something light in tones of orange and brown, celebrating Autumn and also the change of CDF. That’s right, we have huge plans for the site and already started working on it, as a result we started with a new theme for the gallery that was much needed. Comments are much appreciated.

Shot in the penthouse of Manhattan’s Cooper Square Hotel, and inspired by the ‘Greed Decade’, the shoot shows the 30-year-old actress in an entirely new light and is one of the last major photo shoots before her marriage to Hugh Dancy next month. (They will wed in mid-September in France.) “He’s such a cutie patootie,” she says about her fiancé. “Sometimes I forget just how good-looking he is.

At one point Danes found herself flat on her back, legs in mid-air, with two stylists yanking boots down on each foot: “I’ve never felt so infantilized in my life.”

Danes will next star in Richard Linklater’s upcoming film Me and Orson Welles (starring alongside Zac Efron), and a controversial new movie, Temple Grandin.
